Within a session you can say how you feel or what is happening for you. As well as listening to how you feel, I work with the deeper levels of the nervous system to bring balance and release stress or trauma. I believe this to be a key element in relieving anxiety, depression, panic feelings, as well as digestive issues, low energy states and all sorts of muscle tension and body pain.
I use body work, energy work, gentle massage and acupressure points, essences and a myriad of other techniques and methods, both ancient and traditional. Your body will guide us to what is the best way to release stress so you can find balance and move on in your life.
It's a co-creative way of working where you are an important part of the whole session. I particularly enjoy this self-empowering way of helping others and have personally found it immensely helpful in following my intuition, managing anxiety and depression, as well as improving my relationship with my own body.
My training & background:
I have around 20 years experience in the field of natural holistic health. My interest in indigenous cultures, health and belief systems was sparked by studying Anthropology and Social Psychology at Newcastle University. Following my degree I spent a few years in Central and South America to study many different lifestyles and natural healing methods. My background is in bodywork, massage, Reiki and energy medicine, and I draw on my training as a meditation teacher, as well as Egyptian and Chinese medicine, Native American Medicine Wheel shamanic healing, Mayan Astrology and Mayan Calendar Teachings. I enjoy using all sorts of creative healing methods that help you relate to your own body, and I bring any of these aspects into a session if relevant for you.
I teach Creative Kinesiology at Foundation and Professional level, along with practitioner core skills, and workshops on the Mayan Calendar and Native American Medicine Wheel. Contact me if you are interested in these workshops or Mayan Astrology Charts.
I worked for some years at BBC News TV & Radio in London;as an English teacher in Italy for a few years; for Mencap in Manchester and Devon, and have been both a PA and a medical secretary in the distant past.
